1. Candidate Forum: Ron Wilcox is working tirelessly behind the scenes with candidates in scheduling and planning of these events for 2012. We made our voice heard that our group would like to host a forum here in New Milford -STAY TUNED......
2. Tax Day Rallies will be held throughout the State this year - We will have our 3rd Annual Tax Day Rally on Sunday, April 15 on The Green. OUR GOAL - Get the word out in advance to encourage high attendance. This will be discussed further at our February meeting.
3. Village Fair Days - IS A GO! -We are very near our goal of $300.00 for the application fee - thanks to those of you who donated for this effort - We will discuss briefly at February meeting -
Our Goal for 2012 is Educate our community on the importance of the upcoming 2012 elections that will determine what kind of society we want to live in -

Ron opened our meeting stating that it is time for TPP to refocus its efforts on Obamacare. Ron again encouraged us to get involved at our town level at the RTC - The town caucuses are just a short time away...the local town committees choose the delegates from its members to go to our state convention and it is those delegates who decide who are nominees will be in Connecticut for 2012.
CONGRATULATIONS TO MICHAEL BARNES, A NEWLY ELECTED MEMBER TO THE NEW MILFORD REPUBLICAN TOWN COMMITTEE.............WAY TO GO MICHAEL - WE ARE ALL PROUD OF YOU!
Fact: We currently have 90,000 registered republicans in the 5th district - there are 357 delegates who CHOOSE our nominees. Ask yourself, how many of those 357 delegates hold your conservative values?
Having citizens on town councils throughout our state sharing their conservative values becomes one powerful way to effect change. We then develop the ability to nominate candidates who share our conservative beliefs.
A question was raised, "What is a good question to ask of a prospective candidate?" The answer, ask "Who are You?" and "What Do You Believe" Keep these questions in mind as you attend forums, and activities where candidates will gather seeking your support......
Al Brandt echoed Ron's message to attend our local RTC meetings and reiterated that there are open seats available on the New Milford RTC.
It was a pleasure to have Peter Lumaj, candidate for United States Senate at our meeting. Mr. Lumaj articulately presented his conservative core values. His personal story is inspiring. We had a stimulating question and answer session. On behalf of our group, we appreciate Mr. Lumaj taking time out of his busy schedule to attend our meeting and share his platform.
